STEFANIK – In Providence, R.I., unexpectedly, March 9, 2005, Paul J., son of the late Walte and Adella (Mazgay) Stefanik of Taunton; father of Paul Stefanik of Taunton and Lisa A. Stefanik of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother and brother-in-law of Walter J. and Nancy D. Stefanik of Taunton; uncle of Brian P. Stefanik, Debra J. Stefanik and Denise J. Paiva, all of Taunton; great-uncle of Troy Paiva of Taunton.
Funeral from the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Monday, March 14, at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian burial in the Holy Rosary Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. TAUNTON – Paul J. Stefanik, 57, of Taunton, died Wednesday while working in Providence.
Born in Taunton, he was a son of the late Walter and Adella (Mazgay) Stefanik.
Mr. Stefanik was educated in Taunton and was employed as a truck driver for Mobile Mini, Inc. in Brockton.
He had previously been employed as a truck driver for several area trucking firms.
Mr. Stefanik formerly owned and operated the Stefanik Oil Co. and the Cozy Cab Co.
He served as a Taunton city councilman in 1984 and 1985 and was a former member of the Polish-American Citizens Club.
Mr. Stefanik was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed gardening and flea markets.
He is survived by one son, Paul Stefanik of Taunton; one daughter, Lisa A. Stefanik of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Walter Stefanik of Taunton and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Monday from Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 in Holy Rosary Church. Interment will be private.
