Peter Babich

Peter Babich, 70, was found dead in his room at 105 Main street early Monday evening by police and firemen who were called to the scene by neighbors who had not seen the elderly man in several days and found the door locked. Firemen were called in by Officer Tautkus to force the door and the body of Babich was found.
Death was due to natural causes and evidently occurred on Friday, according to Medical Examiner Peirce H. Leavitt, who viewed the body. Funeral arrangements will be announced from the funeral home at 741 North Main street.

Edward J. Sullivan

NORTH ABINGTON, April 11. - Edward J. Sullivan, 42, a former resident, died suddenly Monday in West Newton. He resided at 51 Wedgewood road and was the husband of Annie (Tretter) Sullivan. He was a graduate of Abington High school.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: Two children, John and Kathleen; his parents, Joseph and Pauline Sullivan, this town; two brothers, Peter of Brockton, Joseph of Whitman; one sister, Pauline, this town.

The funeral will take place Wednesday from his home, followed by a high mass of requiem at St. Bernadette's church, West Newton.

Vincent J. FitzSimon

Vincent J. FitzSimon, former Brockton druggist, died to-day at his home on Parkis avenue, Providence, R. I., after an illness of more than a year. He was professor of pharmacy at the Rhode Island College of Pharmacy. For 20 years until 1919 he was proprietor of a drugstore at North Main and Howard streets. He left this city to teach at Creighton University in Omaha, going from there to the professorship in Rhode Island.
Mr. FitzSimon leaves his wife, Nan FitzSimon, also a nephew, John A. FitzSimon, 300 Hillberg avenue. While in Brockton he was a member of the Elks' Club. Funeral arrangements are being completed. Burial will be in Providence.

Isador Buyvid

Isador Buyvid, 78, of 128 Arthur street, collapsed and died while working about the yard of his home Friday afternoon. Members of his family found his lifeless form and notified Patrolman Stanley Milutis, a next door neighbor, who was home for lunch. He called police and Patrolmen Lonergan and Cody responded but found that man had been dead for some time. Medical Examiner Peirce H. Leavitt ruled death due to a heart attach. Last rites were given by a priest from St. Casimir's church.
Mr. Buyvid came to America and settled in Brockton over 50 years ago. He was a native of Lithuania. A shoeworker by trade, he had worked for the Field & Flint Shoe Co. for more than 40 years prior to his retirement six years ago. He was a member of the Lithuanian Citizens Club and the S. V. Roko Benefit Society.
Besides his widow, Magdalena (Maciauskiute), he leaves three sons, Zeno and Paul in Brockton, and Albert, stationed with the U. S. Navy in Cuba; four grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Maneikis of Brockton.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P. M. Monday from the funeral home, 30 Emerson avenue, followed by interment in Melrose cemetery.

Antone Mello

BRIDGEWATER. – The funeral of Antone Mello was held this morning from his late home, 267 Oak street, followed by a high mass of requiem at St. Thomas Aquinas church, celebrated by Rev. Percival J. Quill. Many relatives and friends were in attendance and there was a special flower car to convey the many floral tributes. The organist was Mrs. Wilfred Mason and the soloist Miss Rose Cassiani. Interment was in the family lot in old St. Thomas Aquinas cemetery where the committal service was conducted by Rev. John Doonan. Active bearers were six grandsons of the deceased: Joseph Rourke, Theodore Agritha, Ernest Mello, Joseph Mederos, Anthony and Manuel DiSilva.

John T. Herbert

The funeral of John T. Herbert of 574 Warren avenue was held Friday afternoon at the funeral home, 9 Chester avenue, Rev. George D. Hardman, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church conducted the service. Many friends attended and there were lovely flowers. Interment

Augusto Giovanetti

PLYMOUTH. – Augusto Giovanetti, husband of Mrs. Adele (Chierici) Giovanetti, 216 Standish avenue, died at his home here Friday. One of the oldest of the original pioneer Italian settlers, he was born in Italy, coming to this town during his boyhood. He retired from employment at the Plymouth Cordage Co. 20 years ago where he had been employed many years. Surviving him besides his widow are a son, Louis G. Giovanetti, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday morning from the funeral home, 338 Court street, followed by a high mass of requiem at St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock.

Mrs. H. Earle Estes

WHITMAN. - Mrs. Myrtle E. Estes, wife of H. Earle Estes of Fullerton avenue, died Friday afternoon at the Brockton Hospital where she was taken Wednesday for treatment. Mrs. Estes had been ill for the past year but had failed rapidly the past few days. She was born in Spring Hill, Nova Scotia, the daughter of Thomas and Ada (Peers) Bentcliff, and had been a resident of this town for more than 45 years, where she was very well known and had a host of friends. Before her illness she was associated with husband conducting a variety store on South avenue. She was a member of the Baptist church and also of the former Philathea class. 

Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Donald Lindsay; one sister, Mrs. Rita Zeller; one brother, Melvin P. Bentcliff; three grandchildren, also nieces and nephews, all of Whitman. 

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 o'clock at the funeral chapel 532 Washington street and interment will be in Colebrook cemetery.

Mrs. Edith Minnock

Word has been received here of the sudden death at her home in Hudson this morning of Mrs. Edith Minnock a former Brocktonian. She was a resident of Hudson for the past 25 years. Mrs. Minnock was the widow of John Minnock and was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Alice Pierce of this city.

She leaves a son, John of Hudson; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Johnson of Waterbury, Conn.; two sisters, Mrs. Michael (Bessie) Shealey of this city and Mrs. Ethel Fitzpatrick of Boston; a brother, Louis Pierce of Wareham.

The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon in a funeral home in Hudson and burial will be in that town.

Andrew J. Maloney

Andrew J. Maloney, 65, of 14 Blaine St., husband of Esther (Nordstrum) Maloney died unexpectedly at Brockton Hospital on Monday.

A native of Boston, he was the son of the late John A. and Mary A. (Mullin) Maloney.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two daughters, ---*Text Illegible*---, Newport, R. I., and Mrs. William (Marilyn) Held of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two brothers, Stephen Maloney of Brockton and Lawrence Maloney of Central Falls, R.I.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Procataris of Attleboro and Mrs. Elizabeth O'Neil of Brockton; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. G. F. Mansfield

Mrs. Caroline (Tucker) Mansfield, wife of George F. Mansfield of Plain street, South Braintree, died suddenly at her home Thursday. She was a native of Branford, Conn., and made her home in South Braintree 47 years. Her husband is well known locally, having been a tack maker in Whitman and Brockton.
