Michael Macrina

Many relatives and friends attended the funeral of Michael Macrina of 715 Main street, held this morning at 9 from the funeral home, 403 Main street. A solemn high mass of requiem was celebrated in St. Margaret's church at 9 A. M., with Rev. Joseph L. Dunn, celebrant; Rev. Francis G. McInerney, deacon and Rev. William J. McConnell, sub-deacon. Prayers were said at the grave in Calvary cemetery by Fr. McConnell. The choir was in charge of Mrs. Mary McGowan. An extra car was necessary to convey the wealth of flowers to the cemetery. Sunday evening, St. Margaret's Holy Name Society conducted a service led by the president, Atty. Joseph Linehan, and prayers were said by Rev. Francis McInerney, spiritual adviser. Mrs. Maria W. Ripley

WHITMAN. - Mrs. Maria W. Ripley, a life-long resident of the town, died at a local nursing home Saturday afternoon after a long illness. She was in her 79th year.

Mrs. Ripley, the widow of the late William F. Ripley who died in 1922, was the daughter of Arthur and Eudora (Lobdell) Maglathlin of Duxbury. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Ripley spent many years as a practical nurse and many families have fond memories of the days when Mrs. Ripley would *---Text Illegible---*. She was an active member of the Baptist church throughout her life, and was a member of long standing in the Arvensis Class. She was a member of Iolanthe Temple, Pythian Sisters, and on the Cousin Mary Page in the Brockton Enterprise she was known under the pen name of "Diggi."

Mrs. Ripley is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alden (Doris) Turner of Whitman, and Mrs. Thomas (Beatrice) Barham of Pembroke; by a brother, Clarence Maglathlin, and a sister, Mrs. Morton (Leona) Coburn, both of Whitman; by six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and nieces. 

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home, 609 Washington street on Wednesday, Jan, 23, at 11 A. M. and interment will follow in High Street cemetery. Rev. William C. Nelson of the First Baptist church will officiate.

Robert C. Burke

ROCKLAND.-Robert C. Burke, 490 Forest street died Sunday after an illness of several weeks. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Charles G. and Elizabeth (Donnelly) Burke and had resided in Rockland for the past 20 years.

Until his retirement several years ago he was employed as a chauffer for the public works department in Boston. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, Church of the Holy Family.

He is survived by a brother, George M Burke, Rockland; three nephews, Rev. Charles E. Burke, SJ. Cranwell Preparatory school, Lenox; George A. Burke, Rockland; Francis V. Burke, Lawrence Harbor, N. J.; and a niece, Sister Georgeine, CSJ, Newton.

The funeral will be held from an East Water street funeral home, Wednesday morning at 9:15 and will be followed by a high mass of requiem in the Church of the Holy Family at 10. Interment will be in Holy Family cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Krauchunas

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Krauchunas, formerly Urbanowicz, wife of the late Stanislaw Krauchunas, of 129 Sawtell avenue were held at the funeral home, 789 North Main street, Saturday afternoon. Rev. Gotthard E. Burton, pastor of Gethsemane Lutheran church, officiated. Burial followed in the family lot in Melrose cemetery where committal services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Burton. An extra car was required for the many floral tributes.

Mrs. Coleman Ferber

ROCKLAND. - Mrs. Frances (Sacks) Ferber, wife of Coleman M. Ferber of 17 Custer street died Sunday afternoon after a long illness. Mrs. Ferber was born in Boston and had been a resident of this town for the past 30 years. She and Mr. Ferber had operated a woman's clothing store on Union street for many years. Promient in social organizations, Mrs. Ferber was a member of the Rockland Hatikvah group and the Rockland Jewish Community group. 

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Norman, a graduate of the U. of Mass., now doing post graduate work at the U. of Wis. and Frederick Ferber, a graduate of Bowdoin, now a student at McGill University Medical School; and one sister, Mrs. Tillie Price of Dorchester.

Services will be held at the memorial chapels, 10 Washington street, Dorchester on Tuesday, at 11 A. M. Memorial week will be observed at her late residence.

Organist was Mrs. Anna Reardon and soloists, Mrs. Mary McCarthy and Mrs. Ann Munro. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends and many flowers.

Mrs. Ethel M. Davis

WHITMAN. - Mrs. Ethel M. Davis, widow of Arthur E. Davis of 138 South avenue, a resident of Whitman for the past eight years, died at a Brockton hospital after a short illness, on Sunday morning. She was in her 75th year.

Mrs. Davis was a native of Chelsea and resident of Cambridge during most of her life. She was a member of St. Paul's church in Brookline and Walla Walla Camp, order of Pocohontas, in which she was extremely active for many years. Since coming to Whitman and the death of her husband, she has been the cashier of her son's Epicure shop in Whitman where she met and made many friends. Affectionately known at the "shop" as "Grandma" by everyone, even by those her own age, her smile and her easy chatter will be missed by many of the townspeople.

She is survived by two sons, Victor C. Davis, with whom she made her home, and Walter L. Davis of Nieland, Cal.; by a daughter, Mrs. Esther Barrett of Cochituate; by four grandchildren and two great granchildren. 

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home, 609 Washington street, on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 2 P. M and the interment will be in Colebrook cemetery. Rev. J. Franklyn Rudderham of the All Saints' Episcopal church will conduct the service.

Frederick J. Casino

Frederick J. Casino, husband of Josephine (Stanklewicz) Casino of 11 Crowell street, died today in a local hospital after being in failing health for several months.

He was born in Malden a son of the late Dominic and Rose Casino and had made his home in Brockton for 20 years. He was employed by the E. T. Wright Shoe Co. in Rockland.

Besides his widow, Mr. Casino leaves two sons, Joseph and Frederick Casino, Jr.; a sister, Mrs. Annie Larkin of West Somerville, and several nieces and nephews. 

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 A. M. from the funeral home, 403 Main street. A high mass of requiem will be sung in St. Edward's church at 9 A. M. Interment in Melrose cemetery.

E. Allan Stuart

HANSON - E. Allan Stuart, husband of Mrs. Theresa M. *---Maiden Name Illegible---* Stuart, died suddenly at his home 1443 Main street, Saturday morning. He had suffered from a heart condition for the past two years. Although ill health forced him to give up work 15 weeks ago, his death at this time was unexpected. 

He was born in Bloomfield, N. J., 53 years ago, son of the late Grant and Rena Stuart. He resided in Wakefield for a number of years, where he conducted a shoe business. The family moved to Hanson six years ago, when he accepted a position as general sales manager with Ouimet Stay and Leather Co., Brockton.

He was a member of Boston Boot and Shoe; 210 Associates, Inc.; New England Shoe and Leather; Boston Shoe Associates; St. Paul's Royal Arch Chapter, Boston; Aleppo Temple, Boston; Sodality Lodge, Boston Commandery, Knights Templar; and was a former president of Boston Shipper's Association. 

Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Nancy R. Stuart, a student at Whitman High school, and a son, Nelson A. Stuart of Dayton, Ohio; also a cousin, Mrs. Joyce Ray of Gorham, N. H. 

Funeral services will be held at the funeral chapel, 532 Washington street, Whitman, Tuesday at 10:30 A. M. with Rev. Robert H. Heigham, pastor of First Congregational church, Hanson, officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside cemetery, Wakefield.

Mrs. E. L. Matthews

WHITMAN. Mrs. Emma L. Matthews, widow of the late Winnie G. Matthews of 388 Washington street, died on Saturday afternoon after a long illness. She was in her 70th year. 

Mrs. Matthews, a native of Fairhaven, was the daughter of Charles R. and Isabella (DeWolf) Gifford. She had resided in Whitman for the past 43 years. Since the death of her husband in 1948 she had been employed at the Cavicchi store in Whitman where she made a host of friends among the customers.
